Digital Storytelling
Actively engage students and boost reading and
writing skills through digital storytelling. Students
create stories and use powerful digital tools to plan
the stories, shoot, edit, and then share the stories
with a global audience. Tied to the curriculum, the
storytelling experience provides groups of students the
creative opportunity to bring together a story in a
unique way. This is a one credit hour class through

Support for the Struggling Reader
“It
was fun. We played ball. The end.” Meet the reluctant
writer! You need new strategies and tools to help these
students express themselves. You may not have been trained as a
reading and writing teacher, but every teacher is a teacher of
reading and writing. We know many of our students can’t read
the textbook, so what strategies can you use to teach reading in
the content areas? With a focus on technology tools that can
help, you will learn about effective searching for alternate
text, tools in software that can be used in new ways, and online
resources to improve reading and writing. Classroom tested
management strategies will be included. |
